3. What is the purpose of iWeekend?

The purpose of iWeekend is to bring together 50 entrepreneurs of different profiles, select an idea, develop the product and launch a prototype of the product (a web-based system) all in one weekend!

We believe that there is no better way to do networking and connect with other restless minds than by working with them side by side for two intensive day. The event is ideal for entrepreneurs who are looking for a team and for professionals who are looking to get involved in a project.

4. Is the startup created during the weekend or later?

During the weekend, we create a prototype of the product. After the event, it is the responsibility of the entrepreneur to launch the first version of the product and carry forward the project.

5. Everyone must present an idea?

No. Only those who have an idea.

6. I will be presenting an idea. Can I bring slides?

No. You will have to sell your idea with your words and without the help of PowerPoint.

7. I have an idea, but don't know if it is suitable for iWeekend. What kind of idea / project is ideal for this event?

The chosen concept should have the following characteristics:

  • Be easily understandable (and understood) throughout the world, therefore complex ideas or initiatives that are developed in complex markets (and therefore require prior knowledge of the market/sector) should not be considered.
  • It should be possible to develop a prototype during the weekend, so technologically complex initiatives should not be considered. If your idea does not meet any requirement but still you think you can convince the audience to choose your idea, go ahead. Show us your leadership skills!

8. How will be the distribution of equity / shares?

Given the complexity of dividing a company among many partners, and the fact that those who attend the iWeekend don't do so for a % in the company but rather for the unique experience and networking, and it's better for everyone and for iWeekend that the project really survives in the outside world, we have decided that the entrepreneur should decide on this issue.

The only thing to consider is that the entrepreneur should pledge to give 5% of the equity in the new company to iWeekend Association.

We recommend that the entrepreneur carefully choose the team he/she will work with. It is important to have the opportunity to know well who you are going to work with. Since the first people in a firm determine to a great extent, its future.

9. Who will be the owner of the startup? Am I working for free? Or worse still, after paying Rs.750?

The entry fee of Rs.750 covers a small portion of the expenses of the event.

It is not about working for free. It's about working together with other professionals, contribute, learn, relate, make connections that will last a long time.

Well, yes, it's about working all weekend (and paying for doing so;)

The entrepreneur will be the owner of the startup.

10. Should we continue working on this project after the weekend?

No. The commitment of those attending the event ends once the event ends. If you then want to volunteer or if you want to join the project, you must reach an agreement with the entrepreneur.

11. Will the elected projects have some kind of grant or scholarship funding?

No, the elected projects will not receive any grant, scholarship or funding. All they can receive is the work of many people to jumpstart the project and perhaps a team to proceed after the event.

If there are any new developments regarding what the new projects will receive, we will announce.

12. I would like to organize an iWeekend in my city or collaborate in some way.
